We choose sustainable development:
We have started a path of sustainability in the development of our cosmetics to respond to the increasingly shared desire of conscious cosmetics attentive to the principles of safety, effectiveness and eco-environmental sustainability. For all these reasons, we decided to certify our new lines developing them in compliance with the highest standards of organic cosmetics. The certification bodies we have chosen to date are Cosmos Organic ICEA and AIAB.
NO-TO-MICROPLASTICS
We have always voluntarily banned the use of microplastics in our exfoliating cosmetics, always favoring 100% vegetable materials, such as finely chopped seeds and stones, natural cellulose fibers or salts of the Dead Sea. Why have we never used microplastics? Even before it became a legal requirement, we at PHYTORELAX have never used microplastics in our exfoliating products. That is why we have welcomed with great satisfaction the ongoing legislative process for the elimination of microplastics intentionally added. The use of microplastics is in fact prohibited: the very small size of these plastic particles are not retained by water filters and, arriving directly at sea, are easily ingested by fish, crustaceans and molluscs, and then return to our tables with harmful consequences for us too.
WE FAVOUR PACKAGING WITH EFFICIENT DESIGN
We only use secondary packaging if strictly necessary. We do not use plastic overpacking. We choose packaging with a compact shape capable of containing the same quantity of product in a smaller volume.
We have always reduced the environmental impact of shipments: the iconic Phytorelax lines have a rectangular bottle that over the years has been optimized and revised in materials but always maintaining the same geometric shape. A strongly desired choice to limit the spatial footprint inside the packaging and thus reduce the environmental impact of the shipments.

In 2022 we inaugurate a new partnership with an Italian reality: Junker App is a free app that tells you how to differentiate every single product, thanks to the barcode reading of your products. This innovative app facilitates separate collection in a simple, fast and above all error-free way. Junker App was born in our territory of Bologna and is headed by a pool of engineers. They are specialized in the development of cloud-based solutions addressed to the mobile and web world of the cleantech sector, or “clean technologies”, solutions and products that reduce (or eliminate) the environmental impact of a production process, improving its energy efficiency, making a more rational use of natural resources and cutting waste emissions.

Phytorelax – CAMEROON
In the Lands of Central Africa, in Cameroon Phytorelax encourages the cultivation of Cocoa trees: a very precious active ingredient with rich cosmetic benefits and extraordinary soothing and dermoprotective properties.
Phytorelax – ITALY
In Italy, our homeland and wonderful land, Phytorelax increases biodiversity and reduces the surface of abandoned soil thanks to the planting of pomegranate trees. The forest Phytorelax is born in Sicily, in the enchanting landscape of the valley of the river Alcantara, thanks to the project Green Work Experience for Autistic People realized with the Association Carpe Diem, Together for Autism Onlus.
WE CHOSE TREEDOM BECAUSE IT IS AN ETHICAL AND TRANSPARENT INITIATIVE.
Treedom is an international web platform that allows donors to plant trees across the miles, then following their growth online. Since it kicked off in 2010, in Florence, this initiative has planted more than half a million trees in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Italy. All trees are planted directly by local farmers and contribute to yielding environmental, social and economic benefits.

Phytorelax – KENYA
In Kenya, the “cradle of civilization” according to anthropologists, Phytorelax is supporting farmers both in the management and the care of trees, promoting environmental conservation. Moreover, it is also supporting the development of a collaborative and community spirit: indeed, some projects specifically involve groups of women, and are designed to support their emancipation and independence. Phytorelax promotes agro-forestry projects in Kenya through the planting of trees that provide food – cashew trees, for example – whose fruits are obviously owned by the farmers who take care of them. Moreover, with the aim of protecting biodiversity, we also promote intercropping, like the planting of Grevillea, which attracts pollinating bees and is an excellent windbreak, and of White Mangrove, whose roots provide a home to many animal species.
Phytorelax – TANZANIA
In Tanzania, in the Kilimanjaro National Park, Phytorelax is supporting a project in the Rombo district. The goal here is to decrease the exploitation of water resources and improve the quality of the existing environment by setting up productive activities such as the growing of fruit and beekeeping, but carried out with a low usage rate of water and soil. Through the planting of orange trees, Phytorelax aims to increase and preserve the biodiversity of a place of exceptional naturalistic value.
